a bug was found, no upcoming birthdays are shown for the next year

to quickly fix this you can do that, once i have time to look at all my mods for phpbb3.0 gold compatibility i will review it again

open index.php

Find
Code: Select all
      $birthdaydate = (gmdate('Y') . '-' . trim(substr($row['user_birthday'],3,-5)) . '-' . trim(substr($row['user_birthday'],0,-8) ));

replace with
Code: Select all
      $birthdaycheck = strtotime(gmdate('Y') . '-' . trim(substr($row['user_birthday'],3,-5)) . '-' . trim(substr($row['user_birthday'],0,-8) ));
      $birthdayyear = ( $birthdaycheck < $today ) ? gmdate('Y') + 1 : gmdate('Y');
      $birthdaydate = ($birthdayyear . '-' . trim(substr($row['user_birthday'],3,-5)) . '-' . trim(substr($row['user_birthday'],0,-8) ));

FIND
Code: Select all
         $birthday_ahead_list .= ' (' . ($now['year'] - $age) . ')';

replace with
Code: Select all
         $birthday_ahead_list .= ' (' . ($birthdayyear - $age) . ')';

Hi Lefty!

I have a small problem with this mod (first time I have ever, ever, ever had a snag with one of your mods - and I know it's operator error) but here goes....

I installed the Upcoming Birthdays (already have pop up on birthday and email on birthday installed), and now am getting this error:

Code: Select all
Fatal error: Call to undefined method user::format_dateucb() in /home/scrapcha/public_html/scrapbooksuppliesdirect/scrapchat/includes/functions_upcbirthdays.php on line 87

One thing to note as well is that I just upgraded from 3.01 -> 3.02 (imagine the joy I had to immediately find out they released 3.03 an hour after I finished) - anyway, that update over-wrote several of my mods and I had to reinstall pieces of them - so that could have a bearing on this as well. And, I have the Top Posters mod in that same area.

I will go forward with your date update after I post this to see if it might by chance fix this - if it does I'll post back.

Thanks Lefty!

Okay now! I feel a whole lot better about things, though there is still a little something a-miss. I went through and applied all the changes that you indicated in this thread. The only one that I went off course on a little bit was the first set of code that you said to find and replace.

I could not match this exactly, so I replaced my original code of:

Code: Select all
if ($config['load_birthdays'] && $config['allow_birthdays'] && ( $config['allow_birthdays_ahead'] > 0 ) )
{
   if(!function_exists('get_upcbirthdays'))
   {
      include_once($phpbb_root_path . 'includes/functions_upcbirthdays.' . $phpEx);
   }
   get_upcbirthdays();
}

with your code of:
Code: Select all
// Generate birthday ahead list if required ...// Generate birthday ahead list if required ...
$birthday_ahead_list = '';
if ($config['load_birthdays'] && $config['allow_birthdays'] && ( $config['allow_birthdays_ahead'] > 0 ) )
{
   $sql = 'SELECT user_id, username, user_colour, user_birthday
      FROM ' . USERS_TABLE . "
      WHERE user_birthday <> ''
         AND user_type IN (" . USER_NORMAL . ', ' . USER_FOUNDER . ')';
   $result = $db->sql_query($sql);

   $now = getdate(time() + $user->timezone + $user->dst - date('Z'));
   $today = (mktime(0, 0, 0, $now[mon], $now[mday], $now[year]));

   while ($row = $db->sql_fetchrow($result))
   {
      $birthdaydate = (gmdate('Y') . '-' . trim(substr($row['user_birthday'],3,-5)) . '-' . trim(substr($row['user_birthday'],0,-8) ));
      $user_birthday = strtotime($birthdaydate);
      if ( $user_birthday >= ($today + 86400) && $user_birthday <= ($today + ($config['allow_birthdays_ahead'] * 86400) ) )
      {
      if ($row['user_colour'])
         {
            $user_colour = ' style="color:#' . $row['user_colour'] . '"';
            $row['username'] = '<strong>' . $row['username'] . '</strong>';
         }
      else
         {
            $user_colour = '';
         }

      $birthday_ahead_list .= (($birthday_ahead_list != '') ? ', ' : '') . '<a' . $user_colour . ' href="' . append_sid("{$phpbb_root_path}memberlist.$phpEx", 'mode=viewprofile&amp;u=' . $row['user_id']) . '" title="' . date('d M', $user_birthday) . '">' . $row['username'] . '</a>';

      if ( $age = (int) substr($row['user_birthday'], -4) )
      {
         $birthday_ahead_list .= ' (' . ($now['year'] - $age) . ')';
      }
      }
   }

   $db->sql_freeresult($result);
}

The error has went away! :cheer:

The problem that seems to exist right now: The upcoming birthdays are not showing on the index page. I checked and I do have it enabled to show the upcoming birthdays for the next 10 days.

Any ideas?

Thanks so much Lefty, you rock!!!

Am off to install your User Reminder mod now. :kuhsmilie: Isn't this cow adorable?

Hi Jeanne,
actually, you downgraded by applying this change. the download has the latest version of the mod.

in your previous message, by upgrading, it must have overwritten one of the edits. the one you were referring to was the one in includes/session.php.

I would just check the edits one more time, then clear your cache and refresh your template. you should be able to see the list then provided someone has a birthday in the next 10 days. You can set it to 365, it should certainly show some then ;)

WHOO HOO! :cheer:

We're in business Lefty! It took me most of the day, but that was due to operator error. The good news is that we're there!!!! :tigs:

Thank you so very much! I love your mods! Last night I ran out of time and didn't get to try the user reminder, so I will tackle that now. Boy, I feel so much better now!

Again, thank you for all of your help!!

Seriously? You're banned? I would never ban you! Our ban list is actually really skinny. Let me see if I can snag it from your email and find it in the list. If it is banned, it sure wasn't 'cause of you!

Um, I'm going to tackle the other mod right now. I just came back to redownload it because my firewall apparently intercepted the first download. This was the first mod I ever had an issue with so I'm not too worried (yet). :happysmerk:

Hey,

(musste mich mal auf deiner page registrieren nachdem du soviele gute Mods lieferst ;) ). Hab ein kleines Problem. Hab mMn jede file richtig editiert.

[phpBB Debug] PHP Notice: in file /includes/functions.php on line 3771: Cannot modify header information - headers already sent by (output started at /language/en/common.php:1)
[phpBB Debug] PHP Notice: in file /includes/functions.php on line 3773: Cannot modify header information - headers already sent by (output started at /language/en/common.php:1)
[phpBB Debug] PHP Notice: in file /includes/functions.php on line 3774: Cannot modify header information - headers already sent by (output started at /language/en/common.php:1)
[phpBB Debug] PHP Notice: in file /includes/functions.php on line 3775: Cannot modify header information - headers already sent by (output started at /language/en/common.php:1)

Hast ne Idee woran's liegt, was ich falsch mach?

Gotta small problem. As soon as I upload the changed common.php - file, I get the following error on the main page of my forum [see above]. None of the other changed files create any problems except for this one, resulted by common.php.

Any ideas how to fix that?

Grüße, rob

hallo rob,

Was fuer einen text editor benutzt du denn?

Re: Email on Birthday 1.0.0

http://www.phpbbsmith.com/generate-db.html

Hi lefty,

OK, so installed the entire mod in all the prosilver files (I'm running 3.0.4 - so there is that template inheritance thing happening - I'm actually using the theme / template prosilver Special edition)

Anyway, nothing bad has happened and the options are to make it x number of days is inside my ACP etc...

Just one problem though, there is nothing displaying on the front of the board?

Can you help me out? DO in need to edit the prosilver special edition files - because that doesn't have a index_body.html file (where I would say the mod displays?)

cheers, lefty! ;)

hi, if you change the upcoming birthdays to look ahead 365 days, do you still not see anything?

as the template is inherited from prosilver, there should be no need to do additional edits. you did the edits for prosilver as far as i can read it.
