p.s. Was ist eigentlich Deine Lieblingsfarbe?

We just had a quick look thro all our photos - a very quick look, which took all of the morning!! I kept a travel journal which Heiko is typing up for me (its lengthy!!) right at this moment, hopefully we will have it online soon, and maybe a few teaser photos also (it will take a good long while to make a final photo selection I think!)

Hope everyone is doing well...

Catalina are you all settled in your new place?!!! Hope you get internet soon, we miss you on here!!

almost a month without a post in the gossip section... :nonono:

tigs and I went to see p!nk on wednesday in amsterdam. we had seen her in 2004 already in rotterdam but this time she really  :rock1: .

Fantastic show !!!

The support band was also great, it was a german girl punkpoprock band called LiLi band. We bought their CD and were geeky enough (well i was) to ask for their signatures on the cover.  http://www.lili-band.com/

I'm not really into poprock but I will confess to being a P!nk fan. I think she's awesome. My daughter likes her too (which is better than her being a Britney or a Jessica fan). At least P!nk promotes the idea of strong independant thinking women.

The last concert I attended was in the eighties..  :embarrassed: I can't even remember the last time hubby and I were out without children...   We need  :unfurlhelp: ..

Gawd, I don't even really remember.. It was either Kim Mitchell and Helix or Gowan. Could have even been Platinum Blonde (how embarrassing)  It was a long time ago.  :newcry2:

:lmao: I didn't think that you would.. I think they are all Canadian bands with the exception of Platinum Blonde.

You needn't google them as you aren't missing much.

I had written a lengthy post, complete with links but my dial up slowed and it didn't submit... I hate dial up. I don't have time to redo it now as I have to go but I'll get back to it.

Well Lefty, I've not tasted the speed of DSL or equivalent and I don't want to go back to dial up. Sadly, it's the only thing available in my neck of the woods. The ever popular 'they' keep telling me, within the year 'they'll offer DSL, but they've been telling me that for three years now. I think I won't hold my breath...

Kim Mitchell is a Canadian icon. A few of his songs are Go for a soda, patio lanterns, I am a wild party, Rockland wonderland, Shaking like a human being.

Born in 1952 in Ontario, Canada, Kim Mitchell formed the band Max Webster in 1973. After splitting from the group, he became a solo artist, releasing his self-titled debut in 1982. The follow-up, Akimbo Alogo (1984), was his most successful album; featuring the single "Go for Soda," it went double platinum in Canada.

Gowan is a Canadian singer/songwriter. Some of his songs from the eighties are Criminal Mind, Strange Animal, Moonlight Desires <-- Which is my favorite of his.

Since 1999 Gowan has been part of one of the greatest rock bands of all time 'Styx' and has been touring with them all over the USA, Europe, Japan, Great Britain and Canada.

You can listen to a clip of a Criminal Mind here.

Helix is a Canadian hard rock band. With songs like good to the last drop and deep cuts the knife. I adored the guitarist and met him at the show. I had his autograph both on a sheet of paper and on my stomach  :embarrassed:  I was young ok...    Sadly a few years later he died. I never listened to them since...

Platinum Blonde.. This is just embarrassing. The eighties were a strange time...

They started out as a trio of bleached blonde fellows that used a whole lot of hair products. There's a picture at the linked site. I thought that I could blame the UK for Platinum Blonde but apparently they are Canadian.  :newcry2:

Platinum Blonde are a Canadian new wave rock band that had several hit singles and albums in Canada from 1983-1988, their most popular single being the platinum hit "Crying Over You".
Founded by Manchester (England) native Mark Holmes in 1982, the trio had emerged from the Toronto club scene in 1983 with hit EP "Six Track Attack", a recording produced by the world famous David Tickle that was later expanded into the Double Platinum "Standing In The Dark" LP. By late 1984 the band had invaded the airwaves in Canada with four hit singles, their Juno nominated "Standing In The Dark" and "Doesn't Really Matter" music videos obtaining high rotation on the newly created Much Music, Canada's national music video network.
